My Goodness Butter is a skincare brand with a product line focused on butters (body butter, baby butter, lip butter, booty butter, mama butter) that soothe and nourish the body while also lifting spirits. We love their mission to create skincare to make their customers feel “butter” than good. Love that!!
Monique Gardner, the founder, reached out to me to help her launch a new Shopify experience whose design would not only be in line with her vision for the brand but also strategic in order to increase conversions and sales.
She says - “Before hiring Chaitra, I was completely overwhelmed thinking about my web design. I had prior experience DIY’ing my Shopify website and never felt satisfied with it. With an elevated rebrand, I knew I needed an elevated website. What was most appealing when deciding to work with Chaitra was that I knew I would not only be hiring a Shopify expert who would focus on aesthetically pleasing design, but a strategist who’s mission would be to help me convert sales through my web design.”
I feel over the moon excited about my new site. From the moment I met virtually with Chaitra to discuss designing my site, I felt at ease about the process. The strategy was clear from the start and the process was simple, deadline focused and effective. I only had to explain my vision once, during my our initial meeting, and she absolutely knocked it out of the park. It is more than I could ever have imagined. I loved our communication via Asana and I really found the pre-recorded video feedback process effective as it saved time and allowed us to exchange thoughts and make changes seamlessly.
I would tell someone interested in hiring Pinkpot Studio that I’d 100% recommend the investment in your business as you would be hiring not only a designer but a strategic Shopify expert and someone who is extremely fun and pleasant to work with.
After our strategy workshop, some of the objectives we prioritized on the website were:
1. Launching a new e-commerce brand: This was the start of a new brand and a business. So we wanted to launch a website that was an extension of the new brand identity and was tailored to create a functional user experience for customers.
2. Product highlight: They were kicking off with a single product at launch, so we wanted it to take the limelight and stand out.
3. Coming soon page: To aid with the marketing pre-launch and building interest, we would have a coming soon page where potential customers could sign up for launch details.
4. Email marketing: To help build a customer relationship long-term, we wanted to integrate with a great email marketing platform for Shopify stores: Klaviyo.
The website design was one of the most quirky and fun.
To aid increase brand awareness through the website, we extended their visual identity with unique illustrations and icons in line with Monique’s vision and values. For example, the product in illustration shown below has key ingredients used in the product surrounding it, drawing attention to the organic nature of the product.
The icons added a great touch to the whole design, and perfectly fit the illustrations, the quirky heading font, and the voice of the brand.
The product photos were top-quality which really helped the product shine - front and center. Investing in great photography will make building trust and selling a LOT easier. We also used photos with people in them on the homepage to build trust and connection.
The product page was designed to highlight the benefits of the product and make the buying process intuitive and easy. We used subtle and simple iconography to present the benefits and used accordions for showing ingredient info.
The FAQ page design grouped relevant questions under categories as well as used drop downs to save space and improve user experience on the page.
The coming soon page, pop-up and newsletter sections on every page and footer, really encourages getting on an email list which helps nurture and build long-term relationships with (potential) customers with repeat orders, referrals, increased sales.
The project took 5 weeks from start to finish including development and testing on Shopify. Shopify provides a great marketplace for apps that can be easily integrated with the website to strategically drive growth.
Important apps that we used for My Goodness Butter are Klaviyo which simplifies email marketing and helps increase sales and Instafeed which showcases their instagram feed on the website driving home the brand and community.
We got together on a call to understand the vision, goals and challenges Monique had so I could base my strategy accordingly. Some things that stood out and took priority:

2. Product highlight: They were opening with a single product at launch, so we wanted it to take the limelight and stand out.
3. Coming soon page: To aid with the marketing pre-launch and building interest, we would have a coming soon page where potential customers could sign up.
