When Krysta Morgan, chief-brand officer and co-owner of Poppy and Pout reached out to us, they already had a store on Shopify but they felt like the site did not represent their brand very well. They wanted to completely overhaul their site and also wanted to integrate some custom features to improve the shopping experience for their customers.

1. Launching a rebranded e-commerce website in time for their Oprah feature
The goal was to launch a new stellar Shopify experience in time for their feature on Oprah’s Favorite Things. We wanted to craft a website that was colorful, on brand and presented the essence of the Poppy & Pout brand.
2. New improvised bundle builder: We wanted to launch an improvised custom bundle builder experience that bundled their lip balms in packs of 3, 5 and 10. We needed a bundle builder solution that not only visually looked intuitive and beautiful but also resolved a major SKU issue that they were dealing with in their inventory system.
3. Increased sales and repeat customers: Poppy & Pout were also looking to launch their Facebook Ad campaigns. So we focused on crafting a shopping experience that increased sales, conversions and was easy for new users to navigate. Plus we optimized the website to encourage referrals and repeat customers.
The spot-on, vibrant branding and website was designed by Krysta Morgan, their chief brand officer. She did a fabulous job with the quirky, colorful design in line with the natural palette of the products themselves. We took the design and brought it to life on Shopify. We consulted and guided the website design to stay on track with the website strategy and to optimize it for their business objectives.
We got to flex our Shopify muscles and build some unique and interesting solutions on the website. Some key and fun features we built were:
- Custom Bundle builder: We customized an existing app to reflect the branding of the site and make it easy for customers to make their own bundle of lip balms.
- Store locator app so that customers can search and find a local store that sells Poppy & Pout products.
- A quirky and fun testimonials slider to build in social proof: We added to the social proof and showed reviews for specific products as well as for product categories using the Yotpo reviews app.
- Fun, marquee animations to make the site dynamic and alive.

The online store conversion rate in the same period has increased by 50%.
